Can you paint the internet? It might seem like an odd question at first. The dual sense of the word ‘paint’ makes things awkward. Obviously the internet is not a single thing, like the Forth Bridge, that could be covered with a protective or decorative surface of paint. And therein lies the problem. If the internet is not a single thing then how can it be represented?
