‘Traces’ at The Braid has five artists finding common purpose through reflections on the vanishing vernacular architecture and traditional ways of life in the area. James Hughes, Paul Jordon, Chris Neely, Maurice Orr and Bertie Pennie reflect on the increasingly transient nature of living, and the effect of this on the idea of rootedness and sense of place. Partly a lament on loss, ‘Traces’ is also a purposeful remembering.
