Draíocht Arts Centre show two exhibitions: ‘The Weight of Water’ by Elaine Hoey and ‘Lost State’, a joint exhibition of work by Hugh McCabe and Suzanne Walsh. Hoey’s immersive animation fuses virtual reality and gaming technology to address the ongoing global refugee crisis; a virtual reality headset allowing viewers to enter into the lived experience of refugees on a treacherous sea journey. Also utilising technology, McCabe and Walsh’s work centres around photographs of disused computer parts, shot from the imagined point of view of future entities uncovering the technological detritus of our time.
