The Catherine Hammond Gallery, Glengarriff will exhibit a collection of more than thirty small oils on canvas, watercolours and prints by the late artist, William Crozier. The collection will feature a variety of West Cork landscapes and still lifes that portray Crozier’s passionate intensity of colour. Characterized by vibrant colour, energetic mark-making and rigorous composition, Crozier’s works explore the border between abstract and figurative. The artist, who died in 2011, became an Irish citizen in 1973 and lived and worked by Roaringwater Bay in West Cork for most of the year, an area he felt had never been painted by anyone before him.
