Curated by Anne Magner, ‘The Other Side – Borderland in Contemporary Irish Art’ uses contemporary Irish positions to focus on the personal, geopolitical and cultural effects of borders and social division. From the revolutionary period through to the Troubles and Brexit negotiations, the border has repeatedly become the central point of conflict on the island of Ireland. For this exhibition in Dortmunder U Center for Arts and Creativity, six internationally renowned artists (Enda Bowe, Willie Doherty, Seán Hillen, Jesse Jones, Dragana Jurišic and Kathy Prendergast) offer insights into the past and present of a divided island and open the view to other divided countries.
Due to Covid-19 exhibition dates have changed. Please check the venues website for further details
