Ailbhe Ní Bhriain’s ‘The Dream Pool Intervals’ at the Hugh Lane Gallery offers a meditation on the spectre of loss that haunts the contemporary imagination, inspired by the writings of the 11th-century Chinese polymath Shen Kuo. Ní Bhriain exhibits large-scale Jacquard tapestries, weaving together archival portraits, images of caves and architectural ruins in a surrealist tableau.
