At the Temple Bar Gallery and Studios, Ronan McCrea’s ‘Efference Copy Mechanism’ comprises a complex arrangement of superimposed and layered slide and 16mm film projections. Taking its title from a neurological signal that assists the brain in distinguishing sensory experiences created by outside sources (rather than those originating from the body), the works draw on the artist’s personal archive and accumulated image bank.
