The Soloman Gallery features an exhibition of work by Comhghall Casey. Working on a small scale, Casey’s preferred genres are still life, portraiture, although he does occasionally work on landscapes. His still life work reveals an interest in mundane, deliberately ordinary and everyday objects, such as houseplants, guitars, rocks, cuts of meat, fruits or children’s toys. Casey also produces a self-portrait every year, with simple poses, and a focus on colour and composition. He has received a number of awards for his work, including the RHA Hennessy Craig Scholarship.
