Photographer Karen Cox’s ‘Women of the Thar Desert’ at the Galway City Museum features images of women from Rajasthan in the north-west of India. Most of the women who live there are from the lowest castes in the Hindu social hierarchy and they are often victims of abuse. Cox’s photographs capture their grace, courage and resilience.
