The Dock presents a selection of works by Jason Thompson, who is exhibiting in Ireland for the first time. Curated by Alice Lyons, the exhibition showcases Thompson’s original and carefully worked abstract paintings. Taking inspiration from mechanical, botanical and anatomical diagrams, the Liverpool-born artist builds a sense of design and repetition in his works while retaining a particular visual language. Alluringly coloured, Thompson’s works have been highly praised in recent years, granting him nominations for the John Moores Painting Prize (2010) and the Liverpool Prize (2014).
