Samuel Walsh’s ‘The Divine Comedy’ at the Bourn Vincent Gallery draws its inspiration from the thirty-four cantos of Dante Alighieri’s Inferno and the seven cornices of Purgatorio. Walsh has created a matching number of paintings, and the series concludes with a multi-part work drawn from the third and final book, Paradiso. First exhibited in the Limerick City Gallery of Art in 2007, these works have been endowed by the artist to the Glucksman Library, University of Limerick.
