The courtyard of the Centre Culturel Irlandais hosts Andrew Kearney’s ‘Mechanism’, a light and sound installation developed by the artist during a residency at the centre in 2015. Through a veil of silver marks, visitors are drawn into the natural stage of the courtyard where a silver orb will perform before them, and their footsteps animate a light and sound installation. This installation reflects Kearney’s fascination with the built environment, and the ways in which it can inspire memories, desires, or dreams.
