An interest in defensive architectures and judicial and military archives runs throughout Sandra Johnston’s research practice and intersects with her exploration of physical defence mechanisms that our bodies activate in moments of crisis and attrition. For her exhibition at GOMA Gallery of Modern Art she presents a video installation based on physical movement, alongside works constructed for camera, and sculptural and textual forms.
