Through the M11 Per Cent for Art Scheme, Wexford County Council commissioned a series of sculptures from Maria McKinney based on agricultural communities and practices in the county. The artist visited six Wexford farms to learn about the histories of food production. Her research influenced her choice of materials, drawing on local weaving, wood working, printing and building traditions with jute rope and organic wool being of particular importance. Her work can be seen in ‘Totem Yokes’ at Wexford County Council Offices
